Why Decorate With Flowers?

Why Decorate With Flowers? Well, there are the obvious reasons….Flowers are pretty.  Flowers smell good. Flowers are fun.  But there is a deeper and more profound reason also…Flowers hold the Power of Now.

In the book, Bringing Nature Home (which just happens to be sitting on my coffee table), Deborah Needleman says it best…

A room is never at its best without flowers.  Flowers show that a home is cared for and truly live in.  While Furniture can remain the same for years, flowers speak the the present moment.  And yet, they are a talisman, a reminder of the world beyond our doors, of growth and change and the passage of time.  They are fleeting pleasures.”

Oh and just in case you need a bit more convincing… Research suggests that if you “Stop and smell the roses” it may bring more satisfaction to your life.  You can read more about that study here.
